Introduction

Lupi, born in London, Ontario, is an artist at heart and by trade. As a child, he found joy and purpose in creating, and this drive for artistic expression has followed him throughout his life. His journey has taken him across continents, through various cultures, and into the heart of many artistic styles. His ancestry traces back to the Anishinaabe territory of Deshkan Ziibiing, known as the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, and he’s proud of his mixed Italian and Native heritage.

Lupi’s art is a blend of his life experiences and creative imagination. Digital art, photography, painting, and resin art – all have found a place in his repertoire. His dedication to his craft is evident in every brush stroke and pixel manipulation. Each piece tells a story, a snippet of his journey – some whimsical, others profound, but always captivating.

His artistic journey has been guided by the principle that imagination fuels creation. And it’s this principle that led him to transform his passion for art into a thriving business. “Creating art isn’t just my passion, it’s my way of life,” Lupi says.

Background

Beginnings

Growing up in London Ontario, Lupi was fortunate to be raised in a supportive family. His parents, Franco and Kathleen Lupi, instilled in him a deep appreciation for his mixed Native and Italian heritage. The family name “Lupi,” meaning wolves in Italian, became an emblem of his identity – strong, free, and untamed.

This supportive upbringing was instrumental in nurturing Lupi’s love for creativity and innovation. His artistic journey is as diverse as his heritage, drawing on both traditional and contemporary artistic forms and techniques. His creativity was further fostered during his time at Bishop’s University, where he started exploring epoxy art.

This medium presented a whole new world of artistic exploration – it was through epoxy art that Lupi discovered the thrill of transforming imagination into tangible, beautiful creations. His education at Bishop’s University further refined his understanding of the endless possibilities of art and led him to realize that his talents were not restricted to any single medium or form.

About

The Journey

From his early days exploring the bounds of his creativity to the present day, Lupi’s journey as an artist has been marked by relentless pursuit of growth and self-discovery. This journey has been more than just a series of artistic ventures. It has been a metamorphosis, a transformation from an eager student of art to a skilled and versatile artist.

Along the way, Lupi mastered various styles of painting, photography, digital editing, and printmaking. Each new medium brought with it new challenges, new techniques to learn, and new avenues to explore. But Lupi didn’t just adapt to these challenges – he thrived. His artistic journey became a reflection of his resilience and adaptability, and it’s these qualities that are now the hallmarks of his art.

His journey is a testament to his belief that “imagination is not just a spark, it’s a flame that fuels creation.” Each piece of art that he creates is a manifestation of this belief. It’s not just about creating something beautiful. It’s about pushing boundaries, challenging norms, and daring to dream.

Magic and Illusions

But Lupi’s creativity isn’t confined to traditional and digital art forms. For over 14 years, he honed his skills as an illusionist, bringing awe and wonder to audiences across Canada and beyond. Based out of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Lupi’s magic performances became a remarkable fusion of creativity, storytelling, and illusion.

His magic shows were more than simple displays of trickery – they were immersive performances that seamlessly wove together traditional stories, dance, music, and folklore to showcase his Ojibway culture. One such project was the “Vision Quest,” a performance that narrated Native stories through the art of magic and illusion.

His performances were featured at the London Fringe Festival from May 30 to June 10, 2017, where all proceeds were directed towards Ojibway education. After enchanting audiences with his magic, Lupi enrolled in university to expand his knowledge of business and the arts.
